Set up the Windows 11 Pro and Office 2024 bundle

Set up Windows 11 Pro first, run Windows Update until nothing is left, remove any Office that came with the PC, and install Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024 last. In that order each product goes on cleanly. Both licences in the bundle are for the same single PC.

On a PC that already runs Windows 11 Home, enter the Pro key in Settings to upgrade in place, as described in Upgrade Windows 11 Home to Pro. Your files and apps stay where they are.

On a new build, or a PC you're wiping, follow Clean install Windows 11 Pro. A PC that came with Windows 11 Home often reinstalls Home by itself from the key stored in its firmware. Let it finish and upgrade to Pro from the desktop.

Then check Settings > System > Activation, and link the licence to your Microsoft account, as described in Link your Windows licence to a Microsoft account.

Go to Settings > Windows Update, select Check for updates, install everything, restart and check again. Repeat until Windows reports that it's up to date, then install the driver updates under Advanced options > Optional updates. Finishing the updates before Office goes on means no update restart interrupts the Office installation.

Many new PCs ship with a Microsoft 365 trial installed, often in several languages, and Office LTSC 2024 won't install alongside it. Follow Remove older versions of Office before installing and restart.

Install Office with the Office Deployment Tool and the Professional Plus configuration file in Install Office 2024 Professional Plus or Standard, using the Office key from the bundle.

If either one isn't activated, follow Activate Windows 11 Pro with your product key or Activate Office 2024 with your product key.
