Office has two repair options. Quick Repair runs without an internet connection and, in Microsoft's words, "only detects and then replaces corrupted files". Online Repair downloads Office again and reinstalls it, which takes longer and deals with more problems. Both repair the whole suite, so Word can't be repaired on its own.
Neither option touches your documents.
Run a repair
- Close all Office apps.
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024 or Office LTSC Standard 2024, select the three dots next to it and choose Modify. Approve the User Account Control prompt.
- Choose Quick Repair and select Repair.
- If the problem is still there afterwards, repeat the steps and choose Online Repair.
In Control Panel, the same options are under Programs > Programs and Features. Right-click the Office entry and choose Change.
After a repair
Open Word and check File > Account to confirm that Office still shows Product Activated. If it doesn't, follow Activate Office 2024 with your product key.
