Microsoft doesn't publish a page for 30029-44 itself. It does document the related code 30029-1011, and its advice there is to restart and reinstall, then to remove Office completely and install it again. The same page also traces the error to one older version of the Office Deployment Tool, and says to download a newer version of the tool. Work through those steps first, then the clean boot and the Windows file check below.
Steps
  1. Restart the PC and run setup again from an administrator Command Prompt.
  2. Download the latest Office Deployment Tool from the Microsoft Download Center. If you saved the installation files earlier with /download, delete the Office folder inside C:\ODT and download it again.
  3. Remove Office completely. Uninstall every Office and Microsoft 365 entry in Settings > Apps > Installed apps and restart. For Microsoft 365 and Office 2016 to 2021, Microsoft's uninstall troubleshooter removes what a normal uninstall leaves behind, though Microsoft notes that "The uninstall troubleshooter currently can't uninstall Office 2024." Remove older versions of Office before installing has the steps.
  4. Install from a clean boot, as described in Install Office from a clean boot.
  5. If it still fails, run DISM and System File Checker, as described in Repair Windows system files before installing Office, and try again.
